Architectural Conservator / Preservation Designer

The award-winning firm Historic Building Architects, LLC is seeking to employ an Architectural Conservator with an architectural background. This person should hold a professional degree in Architecture and a Masters in Historic Preservation with an emphasis in Conservation Science. This is an exciting opportunity to work with and learn from a more senior Architectural Conservator and Preservation Architects. For a preservation designer pursuing professional architectural licensure, HBA provides opportunities to meet AXP requirements by working on projects from Investigation/Schematic Design through Construction Administration. Minimum software skills requirements: capability in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, In-Design, Illustrator, and Photoshop. This position is for someone directly out of school or with up to 2 years of experience in a conservation or architectural practice.

Staff development, including AXP and involvement in Association for Preservation Technology (APT) and American Institute for Conservation (AIC) are encouraged. Support is offered in taking the ARE.

HBA embraces a hybrid work model. Three days a week are required in the office, with the flexibility to be in the office more frequently when needed. Employee must be able to travel to construction sites. A valid driver’s license, and the ability to legally work in the United States is required.

Salary Range

$50,000-$55,000 plus bonus.
